Hassle-Free (and Crushing It) CBC Searchlight!

I hope this finds you warm and cozy! We are experiencing a deep freeze (for us) in Vancouver but not as bad as up north, on the prairies or out east. I am loving that blue sky.
The new album is crushing it! Climbing Table Mountain has reached over 10,000 plays on Spotify and Jerkwater Town over 5,000! Thanks for following on Spotify. This last week I have had 5 new adds to radio 265 spins up from 165 spins the previous week. Please continue to request my music on your fave station, when they get requests they get that music played. Thanks! .

I gotta lot of love from Nashville Music Guide last week too for Through Train Windows. "Funky jazz with a poetic theme, and presentations of a bluesy rock prevalence. Norine Braun is a queen of modern day blues/jazz royalty." Sherry Craig.

Time for the annual CBC searchlight contest! I have entered Climbing Table Mountain this year and if you could show me some love with a vote that would be most awesome! You can vote daily and from anywhere in the world. :) thanks!! Voting is truly hassle - free this year too.  CBC

Brand New Music Lyric Video for Climbing Table Mountain.

I hope you are beginning a wonderful new year! Here is the first music video for Climbing Table Mountain from Through Train Windows, it is a very cool lyric video so you can sing along with me! Check it out!

And 2 new reviews  are in this week too! From BC's esteemed Rektchords Magazine, Slone Fox says, "With a soft acoustic, gentle harmonica and Braun’s powerful voice, every track on Through Train Windows has the uncanny ability to make you nostalgic for places you’ve never been. It also immediately makes you yearn for home, even if you’re physically already there."

ALL the way to shortandweetnyc where Ralph Greco writes, "Although Through Train Windows ends with a rollicking upbeat title track for me, the plodding “Heaven Only Knows,” works better. Unlike anything else of these 13, with a descending chorus line, Polsky hitting laconically, and droplet bass notes and slide from Adam Popowitz, I love how at times things seem to be breaking down into a discordant mess, then right themselves again. This is a weird, wonderful, great tune on an incredible album."

Here's to a terrific 2019! Thanks for reading and watching.

Become a Patron for Through Train Windows

Become a Patron of the Arts and help me launch the upcoming new album, Through Train Windows with an advance pre-order!
My Through Train Windows recording is almost complete. The new album was inspired by the cross Canada tour Alice and I did as Artists on Board the Via Rail last fall. I wrote many of the songs last November and December while a Musician in Residence at Banff Centre for the Arts and Creativity. The songs are based on traveling the beautiful, vast Canadian landscape, meeting the diversity of fellow sojourners and the rhythm of the train as it both soothes and inspires. The songs conjure up feelings of nostalgia and dreams exploring the nature and paradoxes of life.
The multi-talented and Juno nominated Adam Popowitz is producing this album and also plays bass and lead guitar on the recordings. Adam produced Gone To The Spirits the album behind my nomination for this year's Western Canadian Music Awards. Drummer Elliot Polsky returns as master percussionist, bluesmeister Huggybear Leonard on blues harp and of course Queen of the Trills Alice Fraser on her elegant keys. I am thrilled to announce that saxophonist extraordinare Steve Hilliam who plays with such greats as Colin James and the R&B Allstars is gracing the album on 4 songs too! This new project is truly shaping up to be something so special! Here are ten ways you can support and be part of this exciting new work:

The piano was used in the recording of the song 99% featured on the album Conventus The Eye of the heart and played by Alice Fraser on the recording. PS Alice will gladly sign the piano key too  or you might get a collection of photo postcards, presskits etc.
